Last post for today

I spent Mothers Day afternoon with my Mum and sisters yesterday with all our Stampin Up crafting supplies laid out in the conservatory. Here are the two of the cards that we produced:

Using: Happy Moments SAB set, butterfly punch, Pink Flamingo Series Paper, Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon, scallop edge punch, Cameo Coral & Only Orange card.

Using: Tea & Crumpets Designers Series Paper, Flight of the Butterfly stamps, butterfly punch, chocolate chip grosgrain & taffeta ribbon, scallop edge punch, close to cocoa card, Vintage Labels Sale-A-Bration set.

Mother's Day Card

After a week of attempting several Mothers Day cards for my Mum I was feeling quite despondent. Then I was flicking through a cardmaking magazine and came across a variation of this card. I loved it! And knew Mum would too. So after 2 hours of measuring, ruling, drawing, erasing and craft knifing I managed to create myself a greenhouse! (and that was before starting on the decoration!).

And while this isnt strictly Stampin Up i did incorporate a few Stampin Up tricks and stamps into the process (Garden Whimsy butterfly and ladybird for example).

I think it was thoroughly worth the 5 hours it took, my creative use of clear plastic (I couldnt find my pack of proper craft acetate so had to use the wrapping from a pack of cardstock!) and a hole in my lovely kitchen table (somehow managed to miss the cutting mat and punch through the entire width of a magazine and into my table! Its OK I used some crafting gloss to cover the table dent! Its as good as new! ;0).

Sam's 'Alice In Wonderland' Inspired Birthday Card

It is my partner Sam's Birthday tomorrow. We went to see Alice in Wonderland last week and we loved the visual themes of the Red Queen (Cards) vs White Queen (Chess). So I used this as the basis for his birthday card (he is also a social poker player so its relevant for him too!).

Although it is quite a simple card I think it is quite striking ;0)

I used: the new heart punch, Jackpot designer series paper, Just Perfect Alphabet Stamps. And for the swooshes I used one of the accessory stamps in the Whimsical Wings (Hostess Level 2) Stamp Set.

Swaps for Reading Training- 20/03/10

In preparation for the Reading Stampin Up Demonstrator Training on Saturday I have been busy making swaps. I decided to use this as a great opportunity to try out all my stamps and various new techniques. I have had so much fun using all my new Stampin Up wares and getting to know my way around the catalogue. There are too many techniques, stamp sets, colours & products used to list and label them all. I've pretty much used everything Stampin Up I own ;0)

Here are just a few of the (many) swaps I have been making:

Some recent efforts....

Using: Pink Passion Card Stock, Garden Whimsy Stamp Set, Oval All Stamp Set, Bold Brights Stampin Writes & Stampin Pastels for the background multi coloured effect.
Using: Lavender Lace Card, Flight of the Butterfly Stamp Set, Butterfly Punch, Cheer and Wishes Stamp Set, Tea Party Designer Series Paper.

Using: Chocolate Chip Ink, Cheer & Wishes Stamp Set, Close to Cocoa Card, Seaside Stamp Set and Stampin Pastels for shading on seashell & aging effect on card edge.

Using: A Tree For All Seasons Stamp Set, Cheer & Wishes Stamp Set, Stampin Pastels for background.
